‘Crumbling Cornwall’ Managing our Slopes, Coast Paths, Property and Highways

Saturday 14th November 7:30pm at Gweek Village Hall, Gweek, TR12 6UG

£3 – Members and Children Free

This talk provides a visual presentation of how Cornwall Council manages it slopes, both within the highway network, maintained property and along the South West Coast Path. Using illustrated case histories from around the County, a series of failures are identified and their mechanisms and remedial solutions are demonstrated. Concluding with an account of the infamous ‘North Cliffs Failure’ at Hell’s Mouth that was caught on video in October 2011; which subsequently went ‘viral’ when uploaded on YouTube.
