The Helford Voluntary Marine Conservation Area publishes two newsletters each year.

The Helford Marine Conservation Group has published a series of information leaflets covering some of the important aspects of the Helford river environment and its wildlife.

“Secrets of the Sea – exploring Helford’s marine life” Interactive CDROM

Helford’s unique marine heritage is revealed in a structured and exciting way which appeals to all age groups, adults and children alike.

The CDROM contains information on the biology, geography, historical and present day use, conservation and management issues relating to the estuary.

Also field identification keys for the most common species found on the Helford, and links to other sources of information and resources.


Special publication: Helford Estuary Historic Audit

Sites and artefacts from Bronze Age barrows to World War II are identified and their place in history described in this very special audit which also includes a gazetteer, maps and a list of wrecks.

The Helford Marine Conservation Group often receives enquiries regarding the fishing regulations in force on the Helford River and the minimum fish and shellfish sizes that are permitted to be landed.
